Videos
Say hi to Will Steiner who helped create these resources for you!
Mailerlite
- Building Templates in Mailerlite This video covers everything related to the 2 templates you’ll create for your course — the welcome email, plain text template, and the standard course template (that gets a bit more flair).
- Building the Welcome Sequence in Mailerlite This video takes you through the simple steps required to build a welcome sequence in Mailerlite. The trigger to start this sequence relies on a Zap (in Zapier) and those steps are covered towards the end of the video. This automation is separate from the primary course automations because you want your readers to take an action to start the course.
- Building Self-Pacing in Mailerlite This video shows you how to use individual automations for each email to enable self-pacing. It takes you through the process of creating a simple course template (with all the components but none of the details) and the flow of setting up an automation template that can be duplicated and edited for every email in the course. It includes details on the 2 triggers you’ll want to use (for self-pacing or the 1 day delay), how to set the delay to hit the right send time, and the process of moving people from one group to the next.
Convertkit
- Building the Welcome Sequence in Convertkit This video walks you through the process of creating a simple welcome template, using that template in a 1 email welcome sequence, and then putting that sequence into a visual automation (where it is used twice, with two different subject lines). Don’t forget about the preheader! For this example, the automation is triggered via Stripe integration.
- Building Self-Pacing in Convertkit
This video shows you how to build a single automation that enables readers to enjoy the course with a standard 1 day delay between emails or to go at their own pace using links and tagging rules. The main things you’ll want to check and check again are 1) the order of operations in the automation (email, delay, tag, jump to tag) and the fast-forward links in the emails.
