Consulting is trading time or expertise for money.
And your job is to figure out which one you are trading.
Trading time = I’ll work for you for 10 hours a week.
Trading expertise = I will deliver these assets by this date.
I do fractional CMO work and like to create a 6 month package with a set of milestones we will achieve during my time with them. It makes it very clear what they will get and not get.
I set a boundary of how many hours of meetings I can be in each week to ensure I can actually get the job done that they hired me for.
Consulting is a great way to build revenue quickly.
You would need to sell 100 digital courses at $100 each to equal 1 consulting client at $10k.
But this is the power of a portfolio career.
Why not have both?!
Ok next transition we will talk about the last C = coaching. I have lots of thoughts on this.
